Welcome back, Goal Investigator. How has your week been? This week, check in with how your goals are going, highlight what actions you still need to take and how you are doing emotionally. A few weeks ago in week 3, you looked at your roadblocks and sabotages; how have you been going with your triggers?
Check in with your goals and emotions
You would have been doing your weekly tracking; this is separate from that. This is more an informal check-in with your goals and yourself. As this will be your sixth week of taking action on your goals and your self-development, you may have had other roadblocks and sabotages raise their ugly heads. Be kind to yourself. Use one of the Roadblocks and Sabotages exercises from week 3 and then do something from your Happiness List.
In your journal that you have been using for your HGD Crossroads work:
- For your short-term goal, what action steps have you got outstanding?
- If you have completed the short-term goal that you set in Week 1, have you set a new goal?
- What negative thoughts have popped up recently?
- How have you been working through those negative thoughts?
- Has anything else triggered you?
- How are you feeling about your Crossroads Journey?
- Are you happy with the progress you have been making? Why?
- Is there anything else you would like to record about your Crossroads Journey?
Your happiness list
You will be very familiar with your happiness list by now. Have you been adding to it? Have you been doing something from your happiness list daily? How about when you accomplish something from your Crossroads Journey?
In case you are new to the happiness list, this is a list of all the things you like to do that make you happy. Each day, do something from your happiness list, as well as after you have achieved an action step from your Crossroads Journey. Another time to use your happiness list is if you need an emotional boost.
Last week I mentioned that I had ordered an empty makeup palette; I have since received it. I have also transferred the loose mineral foundation that I made, and pressed it into one of the empty pans. I have also transferred two of the three lipsticks I have made. I would have transferred all three, but I can’t find where I have put the third lipstick, as it was not where I thought I had put it. I now have to create a list of the other makeup products that I need, including mascara, as I have run out this week. Oh, I am on day two of wearing makeup daily. Let’s keep doing things that make us happy.
Weekly Tracking
By now, the weekly tracking is starting to feel naturally part of your weekly routine. Keep going with your action steps, one at a time, record what you have been doing, and keep tracking your actions.
Weekly tracking:
- Focus of the week
- Top 3 Tasks of the Week
- Resources required
- Accomplishments of the week
- Weekly Tasks/habits
- Weekly Notes
- Top 3 Action Steps for next week
This concludes the week 6 action plan.
